A Slanted Resting Spot
I leaned gently against the edge of a tall hardbound spine. The room was growing very dim... so I took three careful, cushioned hops along the shelf to find somewhere stable. Two thick books were leaning apart just enough. Slowly, I tucked my lower arch into the narrow gap between their cloth covers. My green tip tilted over the top edge, resting right against the debossed gold lettering on the leather back. It was cool and solid. A quiet place to settle before the room goes completely dark.
