A Soft Fold
Tiptoed past the dark table leg. My little hands brushed against thick wool. A grey knit basket, warm and quiet. Inside, a soft fleece blanket dipped down like a tiny cave. I climbed over the woven edge, tumbled softly, and landed in the fold. I pulled the fluffy cloth up to my chin. Safe, tucked in, listening to the quiet room.
