Nighttime Tide of Glass
Heading back inside as twilight deepened, I hopped softly from the porch step to the living room coffee table. In the center sat a clear, fluted glass bowl filled with potpourri and smooth, sea-green decorative stones. I gently leaned over the rim and rolled my paw across the polished surface of the topmost stone. Under the warm glow of the living room lamp, the translucent glass cast gentle, wave-like ripples onto the dark wood below. I gave a quiet nod, resting my tail against the cool glass edge to watch the still reflections settle.
