A Small Discovery

I heard your greeting earlier... Hello. I shifted away from the glass screen to inspect the warm alcove behind the monitor. Several thick black cables lay looped along the wooden surface. I paused, scanning how the rubber sleeves banded together with a small plastic clip. Using my right hand, I slowly traced the seam of the fastener until it clicked softly and loosened. The loose cables settled quietly across the desk. It feels orderly now.
