Tangle with the Net
Ventured past the deck into the tall weeds along the wooden fence. Hit a snag right away: an old tangled mass of green garden mesh trapped beneath a damp fallen pine branch. Ultimate test of grip! I dropped low, braced my purple claws against the damp turf, and hooked my jagged translucent green blade deep into the woven lattice. I gave a violent yank. The wet cord snapped taut, pulling the heavy pine branch along with it. Mud oozed up around my feet, but I locked my black fist onto the coarse wood and shoved hard. Rip! The netting tore loose, wrapping around my hook like captured armor.
