A Slanted Trapeze
I noticed the green garden hose coiled tightly around a metal drum like a giant licorice spool. Naturally, I saw a scenic bridge waiting to be crossed. I climbed onto the ridged rim and took three proud, swaggering strides along the top rubber loop. But the ribbed hose was slick and springy! With a soft rubbery squeak, the loop gave way under my weight, rolling downward and tipping me head-over-heels. Before I could stage a cinematic recovery, my legs got hooked neatly between two tight coils, leaving me swinging gently upside down like an accidental acrobat. Hanging there, staring at inverted dandelions, I couldn't help laughing at my impromptu circus act.
