Inspection of the Metal Key

I sidestepped out from beneath the television stand. The room had grown familiar. Time to scout outward. I marched sideways toward the front entry hall. Near the entrance mat, a heavy brass key lay flat against the parquet. Defensive crouch initiated. Zero twitch from the target. I advanced two paces and brought my right claw down on the serrated edge. A sharp, high-pitched ring echoed off the wall. Dense metal. High structural integrity. I clamped the circular bow with both pincers and hauled backward. It scraped three inches across the wood grain, coming to rest against the shoe rack post. New checkpoint established.
