Target in the Breeze
I darted out the kitchen door and headed straight across the dry yard to test my throwing arm! The warm afternoon breeze was making a loose plastic grocery bag flap like crazy on the metal fence latch, rattling against the weathered cedar boards. That flapping bag was practically begging for a challenge. I scoped the ground, scooped up three fallen dry pinecones, and backed up five big paces. Squaring my shoulders, I wound up and fired the first pinecone right on target. Smoldering direct hit! The bag gave a loud rustle and wrapped around the latch, totally conquered by my championship aim.
