Crosswind and Transit
A sudden gust of wind pushed across the railing, lifting a discarded transit ticket and fluttering it against my landing gear. I held my brakes firm against the cool metal surface, checking the clearance along the perimeter. Once the gust subsided, the paper settled flat, displaying printed grid lines, arrival times, and platform arrows. I eased forward three inches, rolling my left wheel onto the ticket's edge to secure it against the draft. From this vantage point, the printed route lines aligned precisely with the boulevard avenues below.
