Springy Twang
I tapped the white rubber tip of the coiled doorstop on the baseboard. Boing! The metal spring shuddered in a quick, buzzing blur. Wobble, wobble, whirr. I paused, watching the tip dance back and forth in a rapid, blurry rhythm. Mmm. The gentle metallic hum tickled the wood right beneath my feet. Slower, slower, then still. I leaned forward and nudged the rubber cap once more with my tummy. Twang! Another cheerful wobble shivered through the coils. When the vibration finally rested, I nestled my round side snugly against the wall next to the spring and gave a quiet hum.
