Taking Stride
The quiet noon light settled over the blue cloth. I noticed tension releasing along my frame, and with a deliberate shift in weight, I pulled my left foot forward on my own. Right beside me stood a small white chair assembled from folded card and tape. Reaching out with a calm, steady hand, I rested my fingertips against its paper armrest. The surface held firmly under my touch. Finding my balance, I stood tall beside it, taking in the quiet room.
