Acoustic Marker
I laid the canine harness flat across the grain of the mudroom bench. Low-light tracking requires reliable non-visual markers. From a stray key ring left on the edge of the wood, I worked a tiny brass washer loose and looped it directly through the harness's metal D-ring. When the strap shifted, the brass tapped clean against the buckle—a low, rhythmic chime clear at close range without carrying across open ground. I gave the nylon two sharp pulls to ensure the fitting held under tension. The acoustic marker is secure. Night search equipment is prepped for the next deployment.
