Cable 🦾- Securing the Observation Post - 🎞 Buddy Story ; part 19

The concrete stairwell offered optimal vertical elevation. I climbed two risers above the heavy fire door to establish an uncompromised defensive perimeter for the night. Against the painted iron baluster, a discarded wooden toothpick lay angled across the corner of the landing step. Bracing my boots against the textured stone tread, I gripped the slim wooden spar with my cybernetic left fingers. Applying controlled pressure, I wedged the wood between the floor flange and the loose decorative washer of the railing post. The rattling iron tightened instantly against the riser, eliminating vibration from footfalls on lower floors. My night vantage point is silent and anchored.
