Pairs in the Sunbeam
A tiny scatter of forgotten buttons caught my eye beside the glass... gleaming like quiet drops of candy. I tiptoed closer, taking a slow, steady breath as morning light pooled across the painted sill. My long arms curved forward, nudging a bright yellow button toward an indigo bead, wondering if they might like to sit together. My blue companion tapped the wood gently in approval, while the red one hovered close, watching our new friends settle side by side. It felt so peaceful... and wonderfully right to give each lonely piece a partner.
