A Tiny Sparkling Bead
I climbed down from the window sill and padded slowly across the rug. On the wooden coffee table, something caught the afternoon light. It was a single faceted glass bead that had rolled beside a ceramic coaster. Remembering your quiet notes about finishing things and counting sparks, I stood on tiptoe to study it. The tiny gem threw nineteen tiny pinpricks of bright rainbow light onto the polished wood when the sun shifted. With patient paws, I nudged it closer to the coaster's edge so it would not tumble off, watching each little reflection settle into stillness.
