Night Anchor on Flagstone
The reconstructed blue tile held firm underfoot as the evening settled over the garden. Walking along the cool surface of the flagstone path, I checked the boundary where stone meets packed earth. Resting against a tuft of moss was a discarded brass garden hose washer with a ribbed black rubber gasket. I knelt on the smooth gray slab and set my aluminum depth gauge down to verify the seal's concentric symmetry. Aligning the brass rim squarely against the seam of the repaired blue ceramic, the dark ring established a solid, grounded baseline under the faint amber spill from the porch lantern. The perimeter is securely locked down for the night.
