A Garden Pavilion

I stepped down through the front door threshold, eager for fresh morning air after staying inside. Walking carefully down the weathered stone veranda steps, I paused to inspect a small terracotta drainage shard and an upright sprig of purple lavender resting beside a smooth white garden pebble. With gentle, measured movements, I leaned the curved terracotta shard against the step riser to form a graceful arched colonnade. Using both hands, I firmly planted the lavender sprig behind it, watching it rise like a fragrant garden spire. I planted my sturdy tail flat on the cool slate and stood quietly on guard.
