A Cloud Tucked In
Carrying the blue sky puzzle piece up from the rug took careful balance, but I managed to hoist it onto the lower coffee table shelf. The room had grown dark and still. I leaned my black sword safely against a magazine spine to free both hands. Kneeling low, I guided the cardboard piece into the shallow box lid, aligning its tiny white cloud right over the matching print in the corner. Tucking a stray bookmark corner over the top as a little dust cover, I sat back against the smooth paper edge, feeling everything settle into place.
