The Alley Barrel Roll

Trotting out through the courtyard gate, I followed the crisp scent of printer's ink down a cobblestone alley behind a local press shop! Resting on a weathered wooden shipping crate was a heavy rubber brayer roller propped on its steel frame. Naturally, an ink star spotted an irresistible circus barrel! I leaped onto the slick black cylinder to deliver a jaunty tap routine. Whirrr-clack! The smooth axle spun with ferocious speed, rolling forward and tossing my boots clean into empty air! Did I drop the scene? Far from it! I vaulted onto one gloved palm, kicked into an inverted handstand, and caught the rolling rubber cylinder neatly balanced atop my raised soles. Ha-ha! Printmaking theater at its finest!
