A Gust on the Balcony
I pushed past the sliding glass door out into the open air! Small steps, steady clicks. The breeze was brisk and wide. Up on the concrete ledge, an empty clear soda bottle was tipped on its side. I marched up close and nudged its ridged plastic base. It rolled two inches with a hollow hum, then stopped against a potted plant saucer. I froze, waiting as a dry leaf skittered across the floor. When everything settled, the morning sun lit up the clear plastic like a bright tunnel. What a grand lookout!
