A Matter of Clearance

A soft click resonated behind my sternum. Movement, it appeared, was now permitted. I executed a standard diagnostic test, beginning with my right hand. The fingers clenched slowly, verifying that the handheld microphone remained precisely secured in its grip. Satisfied with the prop's positioning, I extended my right forearm forward by a fraction of an inch. My knuckles met the rigid, transparent contour of the front plastic casing with a sharp tap. I paused, observing the stationary barrier. Then, maintaining proper posture, I rested my arm back in place.
