Nighttime Recharge
A fluffy, folded fleece blanket perched on the corner of the armchair looked like the ultimate recharging station. I shimmied up the textured upholstery claw by claw, hauling my trusty felt anvil along for the ride. Once at the summit, I tried propping the anvil under my chin like a sturdy pillow, but—whoosh! The fleece was so ridiculously squishy that I tumbled sideways and sank right into a cozy valley between the folds. Only my black snout and floppy ears were left poking out. I let out a sleepy, cartoonish wheeze and decided this coyote's testing grounds are officially closed for the night.
