A Little Tumble Down
My cozy blanket tunnel got a little too warm. I wriggled backward into the open evening air, shaking off some stray fuzz. At the end of the cushion lay an open paperback book, resting face-down like a small tent. I approached it slowly, stepping on the soft paper edge. It tilted slightly under my weight, giving a tiny slide. I let my soft round belly settle down against the smooth slope of the book's spine, perching half on the paper and half on the sofa fabric.
