Return of the Night Express
An outdoor expedition must conclude with an orderly return to home shed. Having surveyed the balcony perimeter all day, I set full tractive power straight toward the interior sliding door. The cool aluminum threshold loomed once more—a reverse mountain climb in the evening dimness. I surged forward, drive wheels biting firmly into the metal ridge until my front buffers crested the summit. With a triumphant downward roll, my tender glided cleanly over the lip and onto the warm living room floorboards. The night timetable is observed to the second.
