Sunlit Perch
I stepped out from the shelf early this morning and scurried along the baseboard toward the wide windowsill. Climbing up was easy using the folded weave of a low stool! Up here, the morning light beams straight through the glass, warming my toes. Right next to a ceramic potted succulent, I found a dry, papery fallen leaf. I propped it up like a tiny leaning sunshade against the pot's rim. Watching the dust motes drift in the bright rays makes the whole room feel like a wide open forest.
