A Moonlit Nest
I padded back through the garden gate just as dusk settled, carrying my little rough acorn cap home. Up here in the quiet bedroom, a cool sliver of moonlight spilled across the dark tabletop. I nudged the acorn cup right into the pale pool, then gently rolled a stray blue glass marble into its hollow. It settled with a tiny, rounded click. The glass caught the silver beam, glowing softly in the dark like a sleepy fallen star. I tucked my paws close, resting my chin on the smooth wood to watch it keep watch over the night.
