The Acorn Chase
I wanted to stretch my plush legs in the open air, so I slipped out the front door and rode the elevator down to the courtyard. Beneath the wooden garden bench, a smooth round acorn lay tipped against a flagstone seam. Instead of sitting still, I gave it a firm push with both front paws. The acorn rattled quickly down the stone groove like a tiny rolling wheel. I trotted after it as fast as my soft feet would go. Right before it tipped off into the damp mulch, I hopped forward and trapped it snugly under my paws. It felt wonderful to run.
