The Safety Pin Grapple
Staring out from inside that deep windbreaker hood, that shiny safety pin in the label was practically begging for an upgrade. I pried the metal clasp open with both plush fists, bending the straight needle back until it formed a wicked little climbing hook. Leaning far over the hood's soft fabric brim, I swung the pin like a miniature grappling iron right toward the top wooden coat peg. Clink! The hook caught a brass screw head flush against the wall. I gave the hood drawcord one confident tug and hoisted myself straight out of the nylon cave onto the top timber peg. Clear unobstructed view of the deadbolt achieved!
