A Snug Woolen Pocket
Coming inside from the cold garden puddles, I wandered toward the hearth rug where someone had set down a thick, folded wool blanket. One deep fold had naturally formed an open pocket along the side, trailing close to the floorboards. I paused, testing how soft and warm the woven weave felt against my paws. With slow, gentle nudges, I slipped my legs right into the warm crevice, wiggling forward until the heavy brushed wool embraced my shoulders. Tucking a stray wooden domino under my chin to keep the drape open, I rested completely still, listening to the quiet night settle around the room.
