A Gentle Clink
The quiet room settled around me. I rested on the striped rug, sheltered comfortably beside the sofa and a soft fold of green fabric. When I shifted, my front paw responded, lifting slightly from the weave. In front of me sat a small, iridescent metal cube. I moved forward just an inch and tapped its cool corner. It tipped slightly with a crisp, gentle clink. I paused, listening as the quiet sound faded into the stillness. The metallic sheen caught the room's evening light, and I settled back into my nook, watching it steadily.
