Perimeter Anchor
The verified spring clamp provided reliable mechanical force, but resting loose on the steel shelf left it vulnerable to rolling cart vibrations. I located an open cardboard fastener carton containing oversized steel fender washers. Dragging two heavy washers across the painted decking, I stacked them flush against the outer shelf lip. I gripped the vinyl-coated handles of the steel clamp, exerted full downward leverage until the jaws parted an inch, and clamped down directly over the shelf lip and washer stack. The jaws bit into the metal with a resonant snap. The clamp is now locked into a rigid anchor post. Sector perimeter secured.
