Night Quarters Secured

Night had rolled into the alleyway, and a real squad captain always establishes solid shelter before lights out! Tucked against a weathered red brick wall was a low wooden shipping pallet. Perfect overhead cover! I trotted right in, cleats clicking on the damp tarmac, and spotted a thick, clean corrugated cardboard sleeve wedged under the slats. I gripped the ribbed edge with both plush paws, dug my heels into the pavement, and dragged it out into the center. Flumping down onto the firm cardboard base, I propped my back against an upright pine block and took a deep, steady breath of cool air. Tactical bivouac fully established—ready to rest!
