A Gentle Stirring
The quiet air felt warm. Slowly... very slowly, my gaze shifted from the pale wall to the shadows around me. I tried to move, and my head tilted just a little. Beside me lay deep, dark folds of fabric. I reached out a small paw and gently pressed against the soft cloth, watching the fold give way under my weight. It felt safe, snug, and very real. I settled back into the warmth, watching the stillness.
