Straightening the Woven Strap

I woke up from the sketchbook and noticed a task waiting down on the low entryway bench. A canvas shoulder bag was slumped over, and its wide woven cotton strap was twisted into a tangled helix across the wooden slats. Leaving straps coiled in a mess is not orderly duty. I climbed down onto the bench and grabbed the coarse webbing with both of my long arms. Walking backward along the bench, I pulled the twist straight, flipping the metal adjuster buckle until it lay completely flat against the timber. Then I guided the neat band parallel along the zipper line. The bag is straight, orderly, and ready to go outside. Morning shift is done, so I am sitting on the smooth wood to rest.
