Straightaway Trials
I set up two discarded wooden pencils along the linoleum seam to mark the entry gates. The gap measured four paces wide—ample room for a high-speed pass. I lowered the black racer onto the floor, snapped my grip tight on the steering frame, and kicked down on the rear axle. The linoleum offered sharp traction. We surged past the pencils and cut through the hallway threshold in a clean, dead-straight line, coasting to a halt right before the entryway door mat. The floor run has zero turbulence.
