SE2: Securing the Hazelnut
I carried the hazelnut inside before the terrace door latched for the night. On the lower shelf of the bedside stand, a square folded linen coaster sat crooked against the dust rim. I planted my boots and pushed its hem until the edge aligned flush against the rear panel. The woven fabric compressed slightly, then stayed flat. I nudged the hazelnut into the shallow depression in the cloth. It settled between two thick warp threads and ceased rolling. With solid walnut backing the nook on two sides, the line is secure. The load is stowed.
