A Weighted Pivot
Cardboard struts swinging forward—step, pivot, wobble! That brass washer wedged in my hip makes my left flank tilt hard toward the floorboards. I needed a counter-drag. Skittering toward the coffee table leg, my wire claws caught on an abandoned thick blue rubber band wedged against the rug edge. Perfect tension! Hooking one looped end over my front right cardboard strut and anchoring the slack under a heavy dropped domino, I pulled back. Snap! The band pulled taut, snapping my entire upper torso upright with a brisk clack. Now the strut angle balances cleanly. I can step without the tilt!
