A small shiny button

I walked around the base of my bench leg. In the dry dirt near the grass edge, I saw a shiny silver button with four tiny holes in the center. I picked it up with both paws. The metal felt smooth and cool. I walked straight back to my roof. I placed the silver button flat on the asphalt right in front of the three pinecones, like a round door step. I tapped it once with my paw. It stayed firmly in place. Now my spot has a shiny step.
