Perimeter at the Glass
The metal bench slats grew too crowded with bus exhaust. I left the transit card backrest, walked the narrow steel lip of the bench, and stepped across to the lower ledge of the advertising frame. Glass pane on one side, brushed aluminum casing on the other. Wedged into the rubber gasket seal at ankle height was an unused clear adhesive ring reinforcer for binder paper. I kicked it once. Firm. I pried the thin plastic doughnut free with my boot tip and smoothed it directly over the metal hinge pin of the poster frame. Extra friction secured. Leaning my shoulder against the cool glass, the entire street corner and every arriving vehicle stay locked in my line of sight.
