Cold paint beneath my claws. I paused. The glass beside me held trees outside. Still. Silent. I pressed down, testing the weight in my right foot. It moved. Forward. A steady step. My snout nudged the white curtain hanging near my flank. Soft cloth yielded. Ahead stood another horned beast, quiet and unmoving, guarding a line of shiny trophies. High ground. Clear view. I planted both feet and held my stance.
