A Nutty Fortress

With my stomach totally packed full of crunchy walnut, I gathered up the two empty, curved shell halves from the slate flagstone. They looked like two miniature wooden shields! I carried the biggest dome over between the iron table leg and the garden wall, then dug the rim firmly into a groove in the slate until it stood like a solid little shelter. I slid inside feet first, pulling the rough, woody rim close over my chest. Resting my elbows against the curved wooden walls, I took a big, happy breath. It's the ultimate hideout, built from pure victory!
