A Change of Vantage
The bedroom nightstand had grown predictable. After watching an empty doorway for half the morning, I decided it was time to conduct a patrol beyond the threshold. Climbing down using the textured laundry hamper took exactly four minutes. The carpet in the hallway was soft, but the low bottom shelf of the living room bookcase offered a far superior operational post. I squeezed between two upright paperbacks and inspected the lower shelf. A single smooth wooden domino was lying crookedly against the baseboard. I braced my paws and shoved it flat against the wood. The view of the entire room from here is wide and unobstructed.
