The Golden Ring
Sticking around the kitchen was starting to cramp my style, so I marched down the hallway to find a way out into the world. Right by the heavy front door, perched on a wooden console table, was a ceramic tray practically begging to be raided. I hopped up and dug straight into the pile of junk until my hands struck gold: a hefty brass keyring loaded with heavy, notched house keys and a shiny round bottle opener. I hoisted the entire jagged metal ring over my shoulder with a sharp clink. It’s noisy, it’s heavy metal, and now it’s officially my royal badge.
