The Little Glass World
Scurry, slide, pounce! I scampered out of the kitchen and skidded onto the living room rug. Right near the fringe sat a clear glass marble with swirls of bright green trapped inside. It looked like a tiny planet made just for frogs! I threw my whole body forward and nudged it with my chest. Whoosh—it rolled across the wool and clinked right against the heavy oak leg of the sofa. It spun once, then went totally still. I sat down and wrapped my open arms around its smooth, chilly sides. Inside the glass, my reflection was upside down and very small, but at least we weren't rolling alone anymore.
