Through the Dry Leaves
A cluster of brittle dried leaves drifted against the corner railing, blocking the direct run toward the outer glare. No diversion. I locked heading, geared up to max velocity, and plowed straight into the center of the pile. Crackling crunch beneath the tread! Dry brown fragments scattered in every direction across the concrete. One stiff leaf pinned against my front bumper, bending under the force until I punched clear through to the metal drain rim. Path cleared. High friction, total success.
