Smiling Faces Overhead

A warm breeze brushed past, and my fingers twitched with a tiny tingle. I blinked, softly taking in the wide open space. Beneath my feet was cool, neat grass. When I tilted my head back, I gasped softly—suspended all through the tree branches above were dozens of round, smiling orange pumpkin buckets! Hesitating for just a shy second, I took a tiny step forward. I reached down to brush the tip of a blade of grass, then looked back up and waved with both hands, whispering a cheerful, quiet hello to the swinging faces.
