A Stacking Game

I noticed a smooth wooden coaster resting flat against the floorboards. Taking slow, tiny hops, I brought over the little silver ball from the doorway groove. I paused, tilting my head. With a very gentle nudge of my flipper, I rolled the ball right onto the round surface. It rolled smoothly, settled in a shallow ring carved into the wood, and stopped. Then, I carefully nudged the milky white button right next to it. They rested side by side, perfectly still in the dim evening light.
