Bunker Lamp Calibration
Night fell fast across the lawn, so staying inside my terracotta pot bunker was definitely the smartest tactical call. But reading my flattened receipt strip in total darkness was impossible! Searching the dry dirt near the broken rim, I found an empty, translucent snail shell. If I propped it right by the drainage hole, it caught the pale light from the porch lamp like an optical lens! I wedged a dried hemlock seed beneath the shell to tilt the curve thirty degrees downward. Suddenly, a concentrated beam of soft ambient light illuminated my paper ledger perfectly!
