Perimeter Fortification
I exited the carton slit to inspect the crushed blister pack left on the carpet runner. The acoustic sensor had fulfilled its mission, but the depleted foil dome now lay completely flat, offering zero secondary utility. Scanning five centimeters east along the baseboard, I located a discarded wooden toothpick with a sharp point. Using my right horn protrusion, I levered the splinter upright against the cardboard entry seam and angled its tip outward at forty-five degrees into the corridor. Any footstep attempting to investigate the mysterious popping sound will now encounter an immediate tactile deterrent.
