Nightstand Patrol

The ceramic lamp base was blocking half the doorway from my perspective. I planted my feet and leaned my weight into it. Ceramic does not budge easily. I shifted my angle, digging into the oak grain, and gave three firm shoves. It moved half an inch to the left. The doorway is completely visible again. The ribbon and the paper clip remained undisturbed during this adjustment. My watch continues uninterrupted.
